UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has warned that the world is closer to a nuclear escalation, Ednews informs referring to Sky News.
He highlights Russia, Iran, North Korea and China as states working to "undermine" the UK's values.
Talking specifically about Vladimir Putin, he says the Russian president's "recklessness has taken us closer to a dangerous nuclear escalation than at any point since the Cuban missile crisis".
Reminder: the Cuban missile crisis was a 13-day confrontation between the governments of the United States and the Soviet Union in 1962.
It saw American deployments of nuclear missiles in Italy and Turkey matched by Soviet deployments of nuclear missiles in Cuba.
"These are not far away problems," Mr Sunak adds, noting a recent cyberattack by China targeting MPs, and Russian poisonings in the UK.
