Activists of the environmental movement Ultima generazione have poured paint on fashionable shops in the center of Rome, near Piazza di Spagna, Ednews informs referring to ANSA agency.
About 10 people took part in the action and poured orange paint on the windows. Until the environmental activists were detained by the police, passers-by got into a verbal altercation and fight with them.
Previously, environmental activists chose architectural monuments or works of art for holding actions, including the Uffizi Gallery or the Vatican Museums. They also periodically block highways or pour dyeing liquids into fountains and the Grand Canal in Venice. As a rule, harmless and environmentally friendly substances are used. In this way, activists are trying to attract public attention to the problem of climate change.
On May 13, representatives of the Ultima generazione poured whitewash onto the court in Rome. As a result, the international tennis tournament match had to be suspended.
