The European Union (EU) has suspended Georgia's integration process into the union due to the foreign agents bill, EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell said, Ednews informs.
Hartzell noted that the allocation of 30 million euros to the Georgian Ministry of Defense was also suspended.
“I hope that after the elections to be held in Georgia in October, the newly formed government will, no matter what happens, start serious work towards integration into the EU again. The intention of the current Georgian government is not clear to the EU leaders. The foreign agents bill is a step backward and the anti-Western, anti-European rhetoric is completely incompatible with the stated goal of joining the EU,” the ambassador siad.
