In recent times, the increase in the number of coronavirus infections in several countries of the world, as well as in neighboring Turkey, as well as the emergence of a new strain, forces Azerbaijan to take necessary preventive measures. Quarantine measures are inevitable if the number of COVID-19 infections increases.
Ednews reports that doctor-infectionist and disease specialist Laman Galimova expressed these thoughts in his statement to Report.
According to her, the new strain of COVID-19 "Eris" has a feature that can hide in the immune system of people. Due to this feature, the new strain can cause complications in humans:
"For this reason, people should be protected as much as possible. Mainly, people who have not been vaccinated are at risk. Also, those with co-morbidities, oncological, rheumatological diseases, and those with a low immune system are at risk. Pregnant women and minors should especially protect themselves. They should drink plenty of fluids and use a mask. As the weather cools down, we are in a period where seasonal infections spread."
The doctor-infectious specialist noted that since the borders are open, people should be careful, protect themselves and be vaccinated. Because those with a weak immune system can be infected not only with the "Eris" type of coronavirus, but with all strains:
"Special attention should be paid to the diet. Also, people can protect themselves and their loved ones by following hygiene rules, maintaining social distance, and staying away from public places."
