Keanu Reeves isn’t one to brag about his success or fame.
And he’s certainly not one to boast the help he’s been giving to children’s hospitals for what appears to be years.
The star let slip in a Ladies Home Journal article from 2009, that he has been lending a hand to the likes of cancer research and kids’ hospital wards for ‘five or six years’.
So well over a decade by now if he’s continued to donate since then.
According to Snopes, he told the publication: ‘I have a private foundation that’s been running for five or six years, and it helps aid a couple of children’s hospitals and cancer research.’
The 54-year-old added: ‘I don’t like to attach my name to it, I just let the foundation do what it does.’
What and angel.
The Matrix and John Wick star was first inspired to get involved with the charities back in the 1990s, when his sister Kim was diagnosed with leukaemia.
But his helping hand didn’t end by donating money, as he reportedly got stuck in to take phone calls during charity telethons.
The List wrote: ‘Public efforts found him manning the phones at a Stand Up to Cancer telethon in 2008. ‘
Stars like Reeves generously gave their time and used their star power to encourage fans to become callers, donors and participants in the efforts to heal cancer.’
Just last month it was confirmed the actor had landed a role in the up coming Toy Story 4 movie.
Chatting to Collider he said: ‘I got a call which was really cool out the blue from the lovely people at Pixar and the creators of this number, this edition, or continuation of the story.
‘They pitched the character to me and then we spoke and they allowed me to kind of riff on it.
Tim Allen (aka Buzz Lightyear) also confirmed the news when he made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
