A former Mexican cartel boss dubbed the 'Bill Gates of cocaine' will serve the rest of his sentence for the assassination of a U.S. Drug Enforcement Agent behind bars after his request for house arrest was denied.
It is claimed Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, whose story is the focus of the Netflix hit series 'Narcos: Mexico', is almost blind and deaf.
But despite his ill-health, a court in Mexico City ruled the 73-year-old will not be receiving a 'get-out-of-jail-card'.
Instead, he will remain at the Big Bridge [Puente Grande] medium security penitentiary in Jalisco until his 37-year sentence comes to an end.
The former drug kingpin, known as El Padrino, The Godfather, was seeking home confinement due to his hearing and vision problems.
According to Infobae, Gallardo had lost between 50 to 70 percent of his hearing.
