Kosovo opposition divided over EU proposal for interim deal with Serbia without ‘de-jure’ mutual recognition

Prishtina, 09 February 2023, dtt-net.com – Two main opposition parties in Kosovo are asking Kosovan Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, to reject the proposal for interim agreement with Serbia without ‘de-jure’ recognition, while a third minor one is expressing support for it, amid heavy pressure by the EU, and especially the USA government which has abandoned earlier calls for a what it used to call “comprehensive legally binding” final agreement “centred on mutual recognition”, because of refusal of Serbia to recognize Kosovo’s independence.
