Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov estimated on Friday that the potential ban on all goods from Russia the Group of Seven (G7) is likely to discuss soon would hit the global economy and deepen the crisis around the world, Ednews reports citing New York Times.
"Of course, we are monitoring this very carefully. Of course, we are aware that both the United States of America and the EU [European Union] countries are actively considering new additional sanctions," Peskov told reporters at a press conference, adding that "no country in the world has ever faced such a volume of sanctions" as Russia has recently.
Earlier this week, Russian Central Bank (CBR) Governor Elvira Nabiullina described the sanctions the West imposed on Russia over its military operation in Ukraine "beyond the worst-case scenario" but noted the country has managed to cope with them.
