Israeli security forces have detained 27 people suspected of involvement in terrorist activities last night during anti-terrorism raids in the West Bank, Ednews informs referring to TASS.
The raids were carried out by the Israel Defense Forces, the General Security Service and the Border Police.
In addition, military and intelligence officers conducted a raid in the village of Bani Na'im near Hebron, where they interrogated dozens of local residents and detained two wanted persons. The raid was linked to an attack the day before in the town of Ra’anana, near Tel Aviv. There, the attacker stole a car, attacked its driver with a knife, and then began to run over pedestrians. As a result, an Israeli woman was killed and 17 other people were injured. The police quickly detained the attacker and his accomplice; they turned out to be residents of the outskirts of Hebron.
According to the army press service, during the military operation in the Gaza Strip, which began in response to the attack on October 7, 2023, by armed supporters of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas on Israeli territory, about 2 people have already been detained in the West Bank and Jordan Valley. 700 people are wanted, approximately 1,300 of them are suspected of having links to Hamas.
