The United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) predicted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is likely to define the status of Gaza after the conflict with Hamas in "vague terms," CNN reported on Friday citing a report "circulated among US officials."
According to the document, Netanyahu "probably believes he can maintain support from his security chiefs and prevent defections" by not devising a clear plan for Gaza. The report also claimed Netanyahu wants to reach "what he sees as key security benchmarks, which may take months," including killing the head of Hamas's al-Qassam Brigades Mohammed Deif and completing "major military operations."
