By order of President Ilham Aliyev, the “Great Return” process to the territories liberated from occupation is being carried out in a carefully planned manner.
According to EDnews, as part of this effort, new relocation caravans have departed for the village of Sarıcalı in the Aghdam district and the village of Ballıca in the Khojaly district.
In this phase, 39 families 169 people have been resettled in the newly rebuilt village of Sarıcalı, and 15 families 68 people have been relocated to Ballıca. The families moved are former internally displaced persons who had been temporarily housed in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings across the country.
The returnees expressed their deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive state support they have received. They also thanked the brave soldiers and officers of the Azerbaijani Army who liberated their lands and prayed for the souls of the martyrs who gave their lives for this cause.
To date, a total of 149 families have been relocated to Sarıcalı and 172 families to Ballıca. Overall, more than 40,000 people now live in the Karabakh and East Zangezur regions, including returnees, specialists working on reconstruction projects, employees of local state institutions, and professionals in healthcare, education, culture, tourism, industry, and energy.
