Kyrgyzstan issued a pilot project which covers oil transport via Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan to Georgia, the Kyrgyz Temir Jolu JSC company said.
The heads of railroad companies of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan held a meeting in Tashkent in December 2019. Then the parties agreed on the development of the international multi-model route "Asia-Pacific countries - China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Europe" and back.
The first cargo of fuel oil took off from Karasu, Kyrgyzstan to Batumi on January 21. Fuel oil residue is transported in 49 tankers, today additional 48 tankers with fuel oil residue were sent to Batumi.
2 train sets were sent and one more set is being prepared.
