Global Leaders Unite at OIC Youth Capital Shusha 2024 to Combat Climate Change

*Shusha, Azerbaijan - June 5, 2024* - Distinguished international board members of “THE” Society International (Together for Health and Education) participated in the opening ceremony of the OIC Youth Capital Shusha 2024. The event featured an assembly of influential leaders committed to addressing global issues, particularly climate change.

Ednews reports that, he board members present included Mr. Rakan Alresheedi from KSA, Mr. Abdulla Al Mushairi from Qatar, Ms. Aikanysh Akmatova from Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Atakan Basmaci and Mr. Muhammed Gulluoglu from Turkiya, Mr. Yunis Ibrahim from Nigeria, Mr. S. Ullah from Pakistan, Ms. Amal Al Mashaykhi and Mr. Majid Al-Alawi from Oman, and Ms. Samia Khamis from Jordan. Together, they gathered on the sidelines of World Environment Day 2024 to share their visions and reaffirm their commitment to combating climate change.

In a demonstration of solidarity and environmental stewardship, all board members pledged to plant trees upon returning to their respective countries, marking World Environment Day with a tangible action towards a greener future. This pledge reflects the core values and mission of “THE” Society International, which is dedicated to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to climate change, interfaith dialogue, gender rights, health, and education.

The delegates expressed their appreciation for the initiatives spearheaded by “THE” Society International and committed to supporting these efforts at the grassroots level within their countries. They extended heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan for hosting the youth event, appreciating the generous hospitality extended to them. They also appreciated the vision of the supreme leader of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr Ilham Aliyev and admired the natural beauty, rich culture, vibrant music, and delicious food of Shusha, making the event an unforgettable experience.

Mr. Qaiser Nawab, Founder and CEO of “THE” Society International, extended his gratitude to all participants for their dedication and effort in attending this international youth event in Azerbaijan, aimed at fostering cooperation and collaboration for sustainable development. “THE” Society International, a youth-led organization with millennial involvement, operates across 26 countries, championing sustainable development and global cooperation. The international board members also discussed future plans and activities, announcing that the next meeting will be hosted in China later this year, in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The meeting concluded with a group photo, capturing the unity and shared commitment of these global leaders.
