Apple expects to see a $900 million increase in revenue from the current quarter due to the new tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump.
According to EDnews the company's CEO Tim Cook made this announcement during a conference call on the earnings report.
According to him, the support of iPhone production from China to India has already begun. At the same time, the main production location for iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and AirPods models sold in the United States will be Vietnam. China will remain the main production location for sales aimed at markets outside the United States.
Although the company said that the tariffs had a limited impact in the March quarter, it noted that the current changes will result in an additional cost of $900 million. The company is expected to impose a 145% tariff on Chinese goods in April and separate tariffs on electronics products will take effect in the coming weeks. These decisions are a serious development for the company, given that more than 90% of Apple's production occurs in China.
