It is reported that the "M94" galaxy is called the "Crocodile's Eye" because it has a very bright center and is located 16 million light years away from us.American astrophotographer Michelle Hernandez Bayliss has taken stunning photos of two famous spiral galaxies - "M94" and "M51".
According to EDnews, this was reported by the "Space" portal.
"M51" is known as the "Whirlpool Galaxy" because its giant spiral arms resemble a whirlpool and are 34 million light years away. The photographer used a telescope and special cameras at his personal observatory. It took 20 hours to photograph the "M94" galaxy, and 16 hours to photograph the "M51" galaxy. For a clear view, brightness filters and special programs were used to digitally process them.
The image of M51 clearly shows a bright core, dust lanes, and regions of intense star formation. NASA scientists believe that M51's fascinating spiral structure may have been formed by the influence of the small galaxy NGC 5195, which passed nearby. These images once again demonstrate the beauty and structural diversity of spiral galaxies.
