“The establishment of a checkpoint on the Lachin-Khankendi road is an inevitable result of the failure of Armenians to accept the reality of the 2020 war.”
Historian and political analyst, author of books on Britain, Turkiye, and South Caucasus, Dr. Patrick Walsh told this to the Ednews while commenting the establishment of checkpoint by units of the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the sovereign territories of the country, on the border with Armenia, at the beginning of the Lachin-Khankendi road.
He aslo noted that it is a wake up call to those who deny the existence of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty over Karabakh, de jure and de facto:
“This is the reality of the situation in the region with the executive power of the state of Azerbaijan enforcing International Law and national sovereignty.”
"The Armenians are now confronted with the reality of their situation and whether they wish to be good citizens of a multicultural state or purely Armenian in Armenia. They have a choice. The Azerbaijanis in the 1990s never had such a choice. Their choice was to only flee or die. The Armenians at least have a choice” Dr. Walsh stressed at the end.
