The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov is paying a visit to fraternal Türkiye at the invitation of the the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Yashar Guler in order to participate in the IDEF’23 16th International Defence Industry Fair to be held in Istanbul. This information was released by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense.
The Minister of Defense will view the weapons, vehicles and military equipment produced by various companies that will be displayed at the fair.
Can new agreements be reached in the military field between the two countries during the visit? What will be discussed during the visit?
While talking the details of the visit Turkish General Yücel Karauz reminded that the foundation of Azerbaijan-Turkey relations had already been laid:
"Azerbaijani-Turkey relations were founded, and these relations reached the highest peak in history with the Shusha Declaration. Therefore, activities are being continued within the framework of the Shusha Declaration on Turkey-Azerbaijani relations, including political, economic, cultural, military, and industrial fields."
Yücel Karauz added that Turkey-Azerbaijani relations, like relations between countries, are a dynamic process and constantly updated with a continuous joint mechanism:
"Therefore, in the context of Turkey-Azerbaijani relations, the participation of representatives of the Minister of Defense, defense industry, ministries of internal affairs, relevant officials of internal affairs powers, relevant institutions and other state institutions in the field of defense industry and military in the context of the IDEF’23 16th International Defence Industry Fair held today in Istanbul is expected."
"Of course, it is important that the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan personally participates in this exhibition as a guest of the Minister of Defense of Turkey Yashar Güler. Turkish-Azerbaijani military and defense industry relations will be reconsidered through this exhibition. As I mentioned earlier, the dynamic and updated "one nation, two states", "one army, one fist", and "one air sky" slogans, which became an epic in the direction of the Shusha Declaration, continue to grow," the Turkish general stressed.
"As a result of the meetings held during the visit of the President of the Republic and the Minister of National Defense to Azerbaijan, the world witnessed rapid changes in terms of a very dynamic security bureaucracy. Events change constantly and rapidly. Current development in this direction will be evaluated. Of course, not only Turkish companies participate in this fair, the advanced Defense Industry companies of the world also exhibit their products here. Therefore, Azerbaijan will get acquainted with new defense industry products against the background of the processes taking place in the world and will benefit from these developments in the modernization of the army", Y. Karauz concluded.
