Member of the Azerbaijani Parliament Elman Nasirov commented on speech of President Ilham Aliyev, who chaired yesterday a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of the first quarter of 2017 and future tasks.
E. Nasirov said the President highlighted a number of important issues, including the strengthening of Azerbaijan's position on international arena.
The MP noted that Azerbaijan implemented its traditional active foreign policy in the last three months.
"During this time, seven heads of states’ visits to Azerbaijan reaffirm Azerbaijan's reputation on international arena and led to further developing relations between the countries. International events that brought together former heads of state and government, prominent public and political figures were held in Azerbaijan”, E. Nasirov added.
He stated that such international events show that Azerbaijan hosts the discussion of important issues that determine the world agenda. The capital of Azerbaijan sends only peaceful messages to the world.
“During the first quarter of this year, Azerbaijan continued its traditional flexible, multi-vector and balanced foreign policy. At the same time the number of countries that defend our position increases day by day. Today the international community respects Azerbaijan's position”, the deputy stressed.
