Pakistan army deplores Afghanistan’s behavior over SP Tahir Khan Dawar issue

Pakistan army has deplored the behavior of Afghan authorities over the issue of the slain SP Tahir Khan Dawar, and asked the Afghan security forces to cooperate in border fencing and bilateral border security coordination.

In his statements on Twitter, the Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said that “Brutal murder of SP Tahir Khan Dawar in Afghanistan is highly condemnable. We have lost a brave police officer. His abduction, move to Afghanistan, murder and follow up behavior of Afghan authorities raise questions which indicate involvement or resources more than a terrorist organisation in Afghanistan.”

The director general further said that “While investigations by Pakistani authorities are in process, we reiterate that Afghan security forces to cooperate in border fencing and bilateral border security coordination to deny use of Afghan territory against Pakistan.”

Meanwhile, the dead body of the martyred Superintendent of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Tahir Khan Dawar was handed over to a Pakistani delegation on the Pak-Afghan Border at Torkham border on Thursday evening.

The Minister of State for Interior Shahryar Khan Afridi and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai were present at Torkham to receive the dead body of Tahir Dawar.

Mohsin Dawar and other people were also present on the occasion.

The slain Tahir Khan Dawar’s dead body is being brought to Peshawar by helicopter. The funeral prayers of Tahir Dawar will be offered at Police Lines in Peshawar.

The SP Tahir Khan Dawar was kidnapped by some unknown persons in Islamabad on October 26, 2018. His dead body was recovered in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan the day before yesterday.
