New President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky brought hope to the country by making a new decision. After the dissolution of parliament, Zelensky decided to bring Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili to the country by giving him citizenship which removed two years ago.
Mikheil Saakashvili helped Former President Petro Poroshenko to come the power by supporting 'Maidan Revolution.'
Poroshenko appointed Mikheil Saakashvili to the governor Odessa in 2015, May. For taking this position, Saakashvili needed to give up Georgian citizenship.
Mikheil Saakashvili became popular in Georgia by his harsh struggle against corruption. He continued the same road in Ukraine. Saakashvili accused Poroshenko in corruption and resigned from his post in 2016.
He started a new political party and launched anti-government demonstrations. He detained by Ukrainian police and deported from the country to Poland. Then he started to live in the Netherlands.
Last year, Saakashvili announced his wish to come back to Georgia and clear his name. But, his supporter Grigol Vashadze lost to Salome Zurabishvili which it made immpossible return of Saakashvili.
After the announcement on Tuesday, Mr Saakashvili wrote on Facebook: "Thank you President Zelensky! Glory to Ukraine!"
Saakashvili intended to return Georgia after coming back to Ukraine.
“I am travelling to Ukraine now, I’ll arrive in Ukraine tomorrow. I will also return to Georgia at the earliest opportunity,” the former Odesa governor and Georgia’s ex-president told the Nash television channel via Skype on May 28, Kyiv Post reported.
"There are no longer any grounds for denying former Odessa Regional Governor Mikheil Saakashvili entry to Ukrainian territory," the spokesman of the State Border Service, Oleh Slobodyan, told local news site Ukrayinska Pravda, AkiPress reported.
"The right of a citizen of Ukraine to enter the territory of Ukraine cannot be restricted," Mr Slobodyan said.
