"Azerbaijan's implementation of an independent policy and its strengthening as the main power of the region worries the West. After the 44-Day Patriotic War, the new realities in the South Caucasus region do not meet the interests of some imperialist forces."
This statement was made by an Azerbaijani MP Konul Nurullayeva to Ednews. According to her, in this regard, we again see the traditional hypocrisy of the West, the continuation of anti-Azerbaijani, Turkophobic, and Islamophobic policies:
In today's world, the West, which follows the policy of neocolonialism, is the main cause of conflicts and disasters in various regions.
Under the name of democracy and human rights, the internal affairs of countries are interfered with and controlled chaos is created. Of course, the main goal seizing the economy and natural resources of individual countries, putting peoples in a difficult social situation. We have witnessed this more prominently in the example of Iraq, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, and Syria. The processes - such as chaos and civil strife - taking place inside Western countries that talk about human rights in the above-mentioned countries allow us to reveal the true essence. After the "Arab Spring", in fact, people understood more deeply how important stability is. At the same time, it became clear that the spreading of Western democracy forcedly is not without reason.
It is clear as day that revolutions imported from outside bring disaster to nations and countries. The policy of intolerance towards migrants, their inhumane treatment, the strengthening and expansion of racism in Europe confirm that human rights and democracy are just an excuse to ignore.
The deputy stated that in Azerbaijan, as in other countries, inculcating and propagating harmful values that are against our national and moral values is an integral part of the exploitative policy of the West:
"Demanding rights for sexual minorities, organizing their actions, attempts to include same-sex marriage in high school textbooks also stem from this disgusting policy.
The people of Azerbaijan have preserved their national and moral values and national identity for centuries. Our people will not allow any power to undermine and damage these values." - MP concluded.
