An informal meeting of the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has started in Russia’s St. Petersburg, Ednews informs referring to TASS.
The president of Russia invited colleagues from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to begin communication not at the negotiating table, but during a tour of the palace and park complexes of St. Petersburg.
On December 26, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, arrived on a working visit to St. Petersburg to participate in an informal meeting of the heads of state of the CIS.
