The European Commission announced on Friday a financial aid package worth €400 million for the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
According to the statement, the financial means will be distributed through grants and loans in three payments between July and September. The European Union said the package is meant to help strengthen institutions and push reforms in the territory, Ednews reports.
In another statement, the Israeli Foreign Ministry supported the EU's move while urging the PNA to work on reforms. Foreign Minister Israel Katz even interpreted the bloc's conditions as "if you want financial help, stop funding terror," referring to organizations such as Hamas.
