He said in an interview with Al Jazeera television that the Azerbaijani side had assessed the destruction and would sue the Armenian side for vandalism.
IEPF President and his deputy Ramil Azizov, who has been working with Al Jazeera television since the beginning of the Patriotic War, have been closely involved in Al Jazeera's daily coverage of the war. They fought together on the media front. An international report on war crimes committed by Armenian military units against Azerbaijani civilians during the Great Patriotic War, prepared by the IEPF observation mission, has been presented to the world as a serious alternative document.
"Today, it is very difficult for us to highlight this situation in our homeland. This bitter scene of Fuzuli district, Fuzuli city breaks a person's heart. Imagine a city civilization that had been created for centuries, completely destroyed. It does not fit into any humanity, no principles of international law, and no moral norms. No matter how hard it is to watch the vandalism, it is a source of pride to visit our homeland after 27 years. We bow before the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the Azerbaijani army and the spirit of our martyrs. These shameful scenes are bitter landscapes not only in the Fuzuli district but in all the occupied territories of Karabakh," Umud Mirzayev said.
"I watched the graves of our destroyed village with heartache along the way. I could not hold back my tears. The international community should not be indifferent to this atrocity," the IEPF vice-president said.
Representatives of the IEPF informed the guests about the Fizuli region and took an active part in preparing a report on the region. Information about the destroyed residential areas in Fuzuli, the Haji Akbar Mosque of the XVIII century, and Theater House of the Fuzuli City, the remains of the Fuzuli City Club, the city stadium, and other socio-cultural facilities that fell victim to vandalism by Armenian military units brought to the attention of international media. The report from Fuzuli, accompanied by the IEPF, will be broadcast on Al Jazeera television today.
