Today, the President of the International Eurasia Press Fund, Umud Mirzayev, addressed an official appeal to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, regarding the operations carried out against Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
As reported by EDnews, the appeal states:
In the past two days, horrifying incidents have been taking place in the Sverdlovsk region of the Russian Federation. Law enforcement officers, particularly OMON special forces, have committed brutal and inhumane actions against Azerbaijani families — including unlawful detentions, acts of violence, and, according to available information, incidents resulting in the death of three individuals.
Such actions not only violate international law and fundamental human rights but also undermine the long-standing spirit of friendship and cooperation between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Russia.
I personally appeal to the President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, calling on him to take immediate action and ensure the following measures are implemented:
-Immediate intervention and taking the investigation of these incidents under his personal control;
-Ensuring the safety and protection of the Azerbaijani community;
-Holding all responsible parties accountable before the law;
-And providing guarantees that such tragic incidents will never happen again.
Umud Mirzayev
