According to Eurasia Diary, the statement came from UNDP Chargé d'Affaires in Azerbaijan Suhrob Khojimatov.
"This conference is a platform to strengthen cooperation in the field of demining, to discuss the most pressing issues on the best technologies, methods and approaches. I am glad that Azerbaijan has a central position on these issues. The recommendations voiced here will be useful for everyone, "he said.
It should be noted that an international conference entitled "Humanitarian Demining Activities and Sustainable Development Goals" has started in Baku today.
The main issues on the agenda include improving cooperation mechanisms to intensify global demining efforts, joint participation of government agencies, the international community, the private sector and civil society in this process, the application of best practices, innovative methods and technological innovations.
In total, the event is attended by about 120 participants from 30 countries, including the United Kingdom, Serbia, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Angola, Cambodia, Jordan, Sudan and others. Among the participants are members of foreign parliaments, representatives of international organizations and embassies.
