People's writer Chingiz Abdullayev was elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of IEPF

People's writer Chingiz Abdullayev was elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Eurasia Press Fund, a member of the UN Economic and Social Council with General Consultative status. Umud Mirzayev, the president of the fund, informed about this.

Today, the People's Writer, who was a guest of IEPF, got acquainted with the work of the fund and discussed future cooperation with U.Mirzayev. Later, the president of IEPF introduced Chingiz Abdullayev to the staff. Umud Mirzayev thanked the People's Writer for positively evaluating his proposal.

Chingiz Abdullayev, who shared his impressions with Ednews, said he highly values this offer and is very happy to join the IEPF family.

"The International Eurasia Press Fund is a very influential organization. This institution is known not only in Azerbaijan, but all over the world as a result of your great efforts. It is a great honour that you have offered me the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of IEPF. Thank you very much. As of today, I will try my best to support  the International Eurasia Press Fund."

It should be noted that People's writer Chingiz Akif oglu Abdullayev was born on April 7, 1959 in the city of Baku, in the family of a lawyer. He received three higher educations. He is a doctor of legal sciences. He is the first secretary of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, the chairman of the Supervisory Board of "Neftchi"  professional football club, the president of the Azerbaijan PEN Club. He is also a master of sports in shooting.

Chingiz Abdullayev started his literary activity as a student. Since 1983, he regularly appeared on media with essays, articles and detective stories. His works have been published in Germany, Ireland, France, Russia and other foreign countries in 32 languages and with more than 30 million copies.

Based on the works of Chingiz Abdullayev, such as "Drongo", "Unlicensed Agent", "Prisoner's Paradise", "Turned World", "Dance of Good and Evil" etc. Azerbaijani and foreign cinematographers have produced films and series. He is an honorary citizen of a number of cities and the owner of 14 international awards. Chingiz Abdullayev was also awarded the title of honorary doctor of various foreign higher education institutions.

He received the title of People's Writer in 2005. In 2009, he was awarded the "Fame" for his active participation in the literary life of Azerbaijan, the star of the CIS countries in 2014, "Honor" in 2019 and foreign orders of 6 countries.

Since March 31, 2015, he has been the chairman of the Supervisory Board of "Neftchi" Football Club.

It should be noted that earlier the position of chairman of the Board of Trustees of IEPF was held by our late intellectuals, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, full member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, head of the Tectonophysics and Geomechanics Department of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS, honored scientist Hatam Guliyev and the head of the Scientific Center for the Reconstruction of Post-Conflict Territories under the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences (ANSA), corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Akif Musayev.
