Against the background of threats related to water shortages in the world, Azerbaijan is implementing large-scale projects on the reconstruction of drinking water and waste systems.
Ednews informs that this statement was made by Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov at the event dedicated to the opening of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences held in Baku on the occasion of World Food Day, organized by ADA University and the Partnership and Coordination Office of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Azerbaijan.
"Azerbaijan has limited water resources. On the other hand, the increase in the population, the expansion of agricultural areas, and climate change lead to a decrease in water, requiring a special and careful approach to water resources. We appreciate the efforts made by FAO and we are solving those issues within the framework of cooperation," - he said.
