Baku - Executives from the renowned "Al Jazeera" Media Network were in attendance at the inaugural day of the international scientific conference, "Embracing Diversity: Tackling Islamophobia in 2024," hosted in Baku upon the invitation of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), Ednews reports,
Following the enlightening conference sessions, the delegation and film crew of Al Jazeera Media Network convened for a crucial meeting with Umud Mirzayev, President of IEPF, at the organization's main office.
The Al Jazeera delegation, comprising key figures such as Sami Alhaj – Director of Aljazeera Center of Public Liberties & Human Rights Aljazeera Center for Public Liberties & Human Rights; Sami Zeidan – Principal Presenter News Directorate of Al Jazeera English; Jamal Elshayyal – Manager of Content Strategy OTT platforms, Al Jazeera Digital Division ; Karim Mejri – Editor & Translator | DG Office; Asim Alhaj – Producer | Output Department News Directorate of Al Jazeera Mubasher
Among the prominent issues addressed during the meeting were the expansion of cooperation between Al Jazeera and IEPF, fostering friendly relations, COP29 implications, the latest developments in Karabakh, and the prospects of broadcasting Al Jazeera TV channels on Azerbaijani television.
It is also noteworthy that, the collaboration between Al Jazeera and IEPF was formalized two years ago, culminating in the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation. The recent high-level discussions further underscore the commitment of both entities to strengthen ties and navigate shared challenges on the global stage.
