International Eurasia Press Fund representative and historian Henri van Rens shared a post over a documentary called "Mine and Woman", Ednews reports.
Van Rens expressed admiration for the dedication exhibited by these teams in clearing the region of landmines and booby traps, highlighting the rigorous training and fieldwork conducted under expert guidance.
The post reads:
"So, this is a nice piece of promotion about the women's and men's de-mining teams of the IEPF/BAMF from Tərtər in the Karabakh Azerbaijan region. Very nice to see "old" friends who are doing a tremendous amount of work in a large area around Baş Qərvənd, to clear this region of various types of landmines and booby traps. It is daily work for these hard workers to be able to do this. First a thorough training and practice in and at the location at the IEPF/BAMF training institute in Tərtər and then start the real field work under good guidance from specialists. The ladies de-miners are really driven and meticulous to do this job well. Just like the men of course. I myself visited these areas several times at the end of 2023. And it's always a matter of hoping that everyone is still there at the end of the day. If you ask some people why they do this dangerous work, their answer is: "We want to make Karabakh free and safe, so that we can go where we want without danger, plant crops, build houses." And that our children can play without being afraid. As a Dutchman, I have great respect for all those who cooperate and have cooperated in clearing the mines left behind by the Armenian aggressors since the first Karabakh war and subsequent hostilities. My "RESPECT" to everyone from the IEPF/BAMF, ANAMA and MAG organizations who make it possible to do this hard work. Kind regards and regards, Henri van Rens. Representative of the IEPF/BAMF in the Netherlands."
