An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 struck near the Pacific island country of Tonga, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said on Friday, Ednews reports.
The quake's epicenter was registered about 270 kilometers south of the island in the Pacific Ocean, at a depth of 10 kilometers. No tsunami warning has been issued following the tremor.
There have been no immediate reports of potential damage or casualties yet.
