United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres "strongly condemns" the recent attack by Islamic State-linked Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) on a secondary school in Uganda, his spokesperson Farhan Haq said in a statement.
"Those responsible for this appalling act must be brought to justice," Haq stated. "The Secretary-General extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims," he added.
The incident took place on Friday evening when around 20 ADF militants attacked the school near Uganda's border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), killing 41 people and abducting several others.
