French President Emmanuel Macron pushed back his trip to Germany, a spokesperson for German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier announced in a statement on Saturday.
He shared that Macron contacted the head of Germany to brief him on the situation in the country, where people have been holding protests over the killing of a 17-year-old delivery driver. "President Macron has asked that the planned state visit to Germany be postponed," the spokesperson explained.
In its latest update, the French Ministry of Interior revealed that 1,311 people have been arrested in relation to the protests.
