First meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council is being held in the framework of the NATO summit in Vilnius, Ednews reports.
The meeting, chaired by Secretary General of the Alliance Jens Stoltenberg is being attended by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the leaders of the member states.
During the opening of the meeting, Stoltenberg stated that the Alliance has once again confirmed Ukraine’s membership and decided on bringing Ukraine close to NATO.
“Today we will meet as equals, and I look forward to meeting as Allies”, Stoltenberg stated.
Later, media representatives were removed from the meeting hall and the discussions were held behind closed doors.
