As the situation in Ukraine now with a full fledge war going on makes it impossible to have this country as a member, said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in his interview with NPR, Ednews reports.
"As NATO supports Ukraine, we help them defend their right to self-defense, but NATO is not directly involved in the conflict. Because NATO is based on the idea of 'one for all, all for one'... we have to find a way to make Ukraine a member that does not cause a large-scale conflict between Russia and NATO,” Stoltenberg said.
The Secretary General of the Alliance also highlighted the support of the Euro-Atlantic family to Ukraine. "The US has shown leadership, providing unparalleled support with ammunition and advanced weapons systems. European allies have also increased defense spending - record numbers and more support for Ukraine this year. So, all our dollars support Ukraine."
