Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev on Saturday said that Russia will never become a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Ednews informs.
He said that Moscow's opinion of the court makes its decision to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin insignificant. Medvedev called the ICC decision unenforceable and dangerous for global peace, criticizing the arguments used by the "Hague judicial bureaucrats" and emphasizing that Russia's enemies disregard the principles of international law and treaty obligations.
Medvedev noted that Russia as a country that has not ratified the Rome Statute of the ICC is not obliged to cooperate with the court and that Moscow rejects any implications arising from the ICC's decisions.
