The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that it completed "planned" flights of its strategic missile carries and bombers over the Baltic Sea and the Arctic Ocean.
According to the ministry's statement, Tupolev Tu-160, Tu-95, and Tu-22M3 flew over the "the neutral waters of the Baltic, Barents, Norwegian, East Siberian, Chukchi, Beaufort seas and the Arctic Ocean."
"All flights were carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace," Lieutenant General Sergey Kobylash, the Russian Aerospace Forces' Long-Range Aviation Commander, said.
