Western officials are planning to urge the United Arab Emirates to stop sending goods to Russia, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing American and European officials.
According to the report, officials from the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom are concerned about more and more Western-made goods, particularly computer chips, electronic components and other so-called dual-use products, making their way to Russia through the UAE.
Western officials are expected to make the request to halt trade with Moscow during today's visit to the UAE, despite the Middle Eastern country refusing to introduce sanctions against Russia over its war in Ukraine so far.
