The United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled on Thursday that Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of the now-collapsed FTX cryptocurrency exchange, should not be released from jail ahead of his trial.
The appeals court thus confirmed for the second time US District Judge Lewis Kaplan's decision to revoke Bankman-Fried's bail and place him in jail in August over concerns about witness tampering.
The trial is set to begin on October 3.
