United States President Joe Biden emphasized Washington will not abandon Ukraine, urging Congress to swiftly secure financial support for the country.
In response to the narrowly averted shutdown of the federal government, Biden expressed his frustration with political brinkmanship and stressed that the US commitment to support Ukraine remains unwavering. "I want to assure our American allies, the American people and the people in Ukraine that you can count on our support. We will not walk away," he said.
While a spending bill has been passed to keep the government open until November 17, Biden stressed the importance of securing long-term stability by backing Kiev.
