North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on the defense industry on Wednesday to act responsibly and refrain from increasing the prices of their products.
"We agreed to increase purchases of equipment and ammunition, we ensured demand. Now we must ensure an increase in supplies," Stoltenberg stressed, speaking at a forum in Sweden, and added that prices shouldn't be hiked.
He went on to say that investing in armaments is "not unethical," as it is normal to defend one's allies or one's freedom. A day earlier, the NATO chief remarked that the war in Ukraine "depleted NATO's reserves," and for that reason, current production must be "ramped up."
