North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced on Tuesday the alliance's plan to strengthen its presence in the Baltic countries in response to the recent damages done to the Nord Stream and Balticconnector gas pipelines.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the meeting of European Union countries' defense ministers, Stoltenberg described the situation in Ukraine as "difficult" and urged the organization to provide even more military aid to help the conflict-hit nation resist Russia's military operation.
Previously, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius warned about a new wave of Russia's attacks on Ukraine during the forthcoming winter.
