Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday that the German leadership is a "thieving lot," after receiving inquiries from reporters about the latter's proposal that called for Russian assets to be confiscated, Ednews reports via Ria Novosti.
During a press conference, the foreign minister warned that should Germany go ahead with this, Russia could respond in retaliation.
"[They] are thieves, we have known this for a while. They used to be thieves in a political sense ... refusing agreements, and trying to deceive someone. But now they are thieves in the literal sense," Lavrov remarked.
