Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the West has orchestrated the situation in Serbia because it is unwilling to tolerate the results of the latest elections in that country.
"This is another attempt to orchestrate an illegal seizure of power. Not everyone in the West is ready to accept the fact that Serbian voters expressed support for President Aleksandar Vučić and his political course in the elections," Lavrov said in an interview partially released by Ria Novosti on Sunday.
The Russian official also stated that the situation in Serbia is "stable," with the country's authorities "firmly" keeping everything "under control."
