Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili called on citizens, especially young people and the diaspora, to be as active as possible in the upcoming parliamentary elections this fall, since this is a decisive stage in the country’s history, Ednews informs via Georgian media.
“These will not be simple elections... This is a decisive stage in our history. And we are at a stage when we must determine our future through elections - vote for a new model of governance, for a new economy, that is, for a new European state,” Zourabichvili stated in her speech with the annual report in parliament.
The president promised full support to Georgian citizens abroad.
She also emphasized that all representatives of the Georgian diaspora, including Georgian citizens illegally staying in a foreign country, can participate in the elections.
The parliamentary elections in Georgia will be held on October 26.
