While the former authorities of Armenia never practically concealed their negative deeds, the current government, criticizing its predecessors and citing the "Velvet Revolution", resorts to far more awkward methods, a political analyst said on Tuesday, commenting on the reports about the secret prime miniusterial order to double the salaries of top executive officials .
According to Gagik Hambaryan, neither the ministers in Nikol Pashinyan's cabinet nor the deputy ministers or secteraries of differnet government agencues have demonstrated enough professionalism or skills over the past year to deserve monthly salaries of an estimated AMD 1.5 million, AMD 1.60 million or AMD 870,000, respectively.
In an interview with Tert.am, Hambaryan described the prime minister's move as a populist act tantamount to cheating the society, warning of the expected short-term inpact. ″His [demonstrative act of] heading to work on bicycle or eating barbeque outside are not in line with his workstyle,″ he said.
