Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir slammed his country's hostage deal with Hamas calling it "a dangerous precedent that changes an equation and may lead to additional events" in a post on X on Wednesday.
While acknowledging that there is some benefit in the approved outline from last night that allows for the return of some abducted children and women to their homes, Ben-Gvir emphasized Israel's "moral obligation to return them all." The far-right politician stated that Hamas relies heavily on this ceasefire as it provides them with an opportunity to regroup and acquire the necessary fuel outlined in the agreement.
He further criticized the fact that no negotiations regarding Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers who were abducted by the militia were included in the deal. Ben-Gvir was among those ministers who voted against yesterday's truce deal according to Al Jazeera.
