Humanitarian aid that arrived via the Ashdod Port entered the Gaza Strip for the first time since the conflict started, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Wednesday via Telegram.
"In accordance with the government directive, and coordinated by the IDF and COGAT, eight World Food Program (WFP) trucks of flour entered the Gaza Strip from the Ashdod Port today (Wednesday)," the IDF said.
In response to international pressure for an expansion of humanitarian aid access to the enclave, Israel took the decision to open the Ashdod Port and the Erez border crossing on April 5.
