The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Monday that its air defense systems shot down 75 Ukrainian drones over the country's air space during the night.
According to the ministry, the highest number of drones, 47 in total, were intercepted and subsequently destroyed over the Rostov region in western Russia. Eight were downed in the skies over the Krasnodar Territory and one each over Belgorod, Voronezh, and Smolensk regions. Additional 17 drones were shot down over the waters of the Black and Azov seas.
Both Kiev and Moscow repeatedly accused the other side of using drones, as well as missiles, to target civilians and civilian infrastructure and called the moves acts of terrorism.
