The Ambassador of Italy to Baku, Luca di Gianfrancesco, and the First Deputy Minister of Defense-Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, discussed prospects for cooperation in the defense sector, EDnews informs, citing the Italian Embassy in Azerbaijan.
The Italian Ambassador met with First Deputy Minister of Defense Karim Valiyev on the occasion of a visit to Baku by the leadership of Centro Alti Studi per la Difesa – Center for Higher Defense Studies of Italy.
During the meeting, they discussed the prospects for defense cooperation, potential humanitarian assistance from Italy in the area of demining, as well as the normalization process in the South Caucasus," the diplomatic mission noted.
